WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republicans for National Renewal (RNR) issued the following statement on the Trump administration’s announcement of a new regulation which restricts access to green cards for those who have previously received government assistance:

“Uncontrolled immigration places an immense strain on public services in America. This regulation, which directs the Department of Homeland Security to restrict access to green cards for applicants who have received government benefits in the past, is a positive step in the right direction.”

RNR urges the administration to pursue legislation, such as the RAISE Act, in order to reduce overall legal immigration to the United States in order to boost the wages of American workers.
