HOUSTON, T.X. – Republicans for National Renewal has issued an open letter to former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, following her decision to leave the Democratic party and campaign for populist Republican candidates in the mid-term elections.

The full letter is below:

Dear Congresswoman Gabbard,

Republicans for National Renewal (RNR) would like to extend the warmest congratulations to you on your momentous and courageous decision to leave the Democrat Party. Many leaders in the America First movement have come from a wide array of political backgrounds: neoconservatism, libertarianism, leftism, and everything in between; changing their worldviews and affiliations based on new evidence that warrant such a change. We wish you all the very best in your intellectual evolution and continue to hope that you are guided in this process by the truth.

Your foreign policy credentials have always been spectacular, and it seems you are making an evolution on other issues, such as arguing for closed borders in a recent Joe Kent endorsement for U.S. Congress, and supporting the right of each state to determine their own abortion policies. However, we hope that this progression in ideology will eventually be extended to other issues, particularly economic ones. For example, RNR and the America First Republicans we represent hold a significantly different viewpoint than what was proposed in your Off Fossil Fuels for A Better Future Act, as this legislation would have raised already-skyrocketing energy prices even higher and suppressed reliable baseload energy-generating alternatives such as hydroelectric and nuclear power in the name of fighting climate change.

Despite some disagreements in ideology, it is clear that you share the same deep love for this country and are motivated by the same sense of service to your nation as those of us in the America First movement. There is a great deal of overlap between us already, particularly in stopping grotesque federal welfare payments to oil companies, Big Pharma, and other corporate monoliths that are shipping jobs out of our country. RNR believes that you will be pleasantly surprised at how much common ground you might find with the populist, pro-working class sentiments of the America First movement. We invite you to have a public call to engage in a long-form discussion on a wide swath of issues that we would be honored to host.

As for RNR, we believe that the Republican Party should strive for unabashed economic patriotism in the future; it should be a party that puts the interests and long-term well-being of the American people above all else. It should be a Republican Party that rejects the rigid, antiquated policies supported by the establishment of both major parties that have failed to deliver positive results for the vast majority of Americans. We believe that few have as much potential as you to broaden the GOP tent. You can help disaffected progressives who have seen the Democrats embrace psychotic warmongering, limitless corporate hegemony, and divisive racial extremism to stand up against the social pressure and embrace the righteous cause of America First. We applaud you for walking away and look forward to collaborating with you in the future to further the America First cause.

With sincere regards,

Mark Ivanyo, Esq.
