WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republicans for National Renewal (RNR) issued the following statement on the Trump administration’s decision to host the inaugural Presidential Social Media Summit:

“I thank the President and the administration for helping bring attention to this pressing issue by holding this important summit. The time has come for serious action against the unaccountable big tech firms that are censoring the President’s supporters in order to pursue a narrow, partisan agenda. I hope the administration will now continue to demonstrate leadership on this matter by backing executive and legislative action in order to curtail abuses by leading social media platforms.”

RNR is calling on the President to direct the Justice Department to look into allegations of bias and discrimination that have been made made against major social media companies, as well as to formally express support for the passage of the Ending Support for Internet Censorship Act (S. 1914)
